Deacon
My name is Deacon Edgardo “Eddie” Cruz, I’ve been married to the Love of my life and high school “sweet heart” Mariela Cruz for the last 28 years. Together we have two children and two grandchildren. We’ve lived in Polk County since 2005. For the last 16 years we were parishioners of Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland. I was ordained as a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Orlando on June 10, 2017. During the last 16 years as a lay person and now Deacon, it has been a great journey of Faith and blessing for my family. We are very excited about this new chapter of our lives as we become new parishioners of this beautiful community of St John Neumann. I want to express my deepest gratitude to our Bishop John Noonan, the office of the Permanent Diaconate in Orlando, Father Tim La Bo, and Father Jarek Sztybel for allowing me this opportunity to embark on this new chapter of our lives. I am looking forward serving all of you and to get involved within the community here at St. John Neumann. I am also looking forward in sharing our experiences of Faith with all of you. I want to ask to each of you to pray for me and my family as we begin a new chapter in our journey of Faith.
