Policies

Registration:

Families of children enrolled in the program must also be registered with the parish.  Parents are the best example to their children.  It is important that each Sunday and Holy Day you worship as a family and participate in the parish Stewardship program.  The annual Registration Fee for Faith Formation is $75.00 for one child ($60.00 per child for early registration) or $150.00 for two or more children ($120 for early registration).  Early registration is before May 30, 2014. The cost covers a little less than half of the actual cost of our program.  The rest of our funds, and funds for those less fortunate, come from the parish offertory.  The fee can be spread out over the year.  NO CHILD will be refused if they are unable to pay.  Faith Formation is for all students not attending a Catholic School in Grades K-12.  Our Middle school and High  School Youth Groups are open to all students both in Catholic School and public school or private school.  Please call our office to register your child.

Documents:

At registration, please bring a copy of your child’s birth & baptism certificate if they are receiving First Communion.  If they are receiving Confirmation we need a copy of the baptism certificate.

Sacraments:

Children in grade 2 are usually prepared for First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Children in 9th grade (or above) are prepared for Confirmation.  There is an additional fee of $10 per child in a sacramental prep class since there are additional materials for the sacraments of Reconciliation (Peace Day) / Eucharist (Jesus Day) and for Confirmation, this includes robe rental.

First Reconciliation/First Eucharist:  Students in Grade 2 are prepared for First Reconciliation and Eucharist.  Parents are required to attend parent meetings and students are required to attend class and other planned activities such as “Peace Day” and “Jesus Day”

Confirmation: Confirmation classes are held on the 1st Sunday of the month.   Please see the schedule of each class.  In addition to these classes it is required they attend some special prep classes and parents & sponsors are required to attend these classes with their students prior to the Confirmation Date.

Conduct:

We will make every effort to help all students learn to participate in classroom activities without disruptive behavior.  If a child is unable to do this, the teacher will notify the parent.  If disruptive behavior continues, the teacher will notify the Faith Formation Director and parents will be asked to come and pick up their child or stay and sit with their child.
